Class Assignments January 23

Your mission, should you choose to accept it,    (Go ahead and click on that, it's a link.)

(1960's pop culture)    POP QUIZ:  What is that quote from:  Yes, you can ask your parents.
Read the whole page to find the Shakespeare quiz.

If you wish to grow more in your love of Shakespeare, you will choose to accept and act upon an assignment this week.
PLAY Preparation:

Congratulations People, You have democratically chosen to theme our play, "Taming of the Shrew" in the Medieval period.

  1. Spend a moment this week in researching (google, ask, brainstorm, discuss with your auntie) what Medieval means.   Imagine what your costume might look like.
  2. Think about all the Characters of Taming.  Which part would you love to play, which would you hate?  Be ready to mark them 1-10 in order of preference.  Here is a link to a summary of the play.

CLASS Participation:
  • Bring a hand mirror NEXT WEEK to leave at class for actors training.  These are available at the dollar store if you need to purchase one.

Students remember one of the first principles of statesmanship is Freedom to Choose and that means  agency, but with that comes initiative and responsibility.  IF YOU NEED HELP with any of these missions, ASK FOR IT.

 Learn how to be successful.

We really believe that as you are allowed to practice agency, and experience consequences, you will begin to hone your own place in the world--and develop responsibility in your own education.

LEARN TO LOVE LEARNING!

See you next week.

Bonus Quiz:  In Act One Scene 1 of Taming, Petruchio has only one reason to marry.
Why? What does that tell us about his character?
